The Garrett trademark is one of the world’s recognized leaders in the manufacture of turbochargers for most modern gasoline and diesel engines equipped with supercharging.

The history of the brand begins in 1936. Then, in Los Angeles, thanks to a talented engineer of the time, John Clifford «Cliff» Garrett, a small company was founded to manufacture and sell spare parts for aircraft. Two years later, in 1938, Garrett successfully turned into a corporation «Garrett Corporation», which includes a company for the production of turbochargers for aircraft engines, a company for the production of various avionics and a company for the production of measuring aircraft equipment.

In the mid-1950s Garrett engineers developed the first turbocharger for ground and water vehicles. The first machines, in whose engines the turbines were serially installed, became heavy equipment: trucks, locomotives and ships. Thanks to the introduction of supercharging, not only did the power output of the power units increase, but also their fuel efficiency.

A decade later, in the 60s, the first civil car Chevrolet Corvair Monza was adapted and serially produced by the joint efforts of Garrett and Chevrolet engineers, using a turbo in its engine. From this moment, Garrett can rightly be considered one of the first companies to launch mass use of turbines in the civilian sector of the automobile industry.

Currently, Garrett is part of the global corporation Honeywell, located in the Swiss city of Roll. The main direction is the production and supply of turbochargers for the majority of global concerns that collect cars and trucks. The main consumer Garrett in the cargo sector rightfully can be considered DAF, Mercedes-Benz, Scania, Volvo, Iveco and RVI. Garrett products are among the three largest manufacturers of turbines for trucks and special machinery, along with Cummins Turbo Technologies (Holset) and Borg Warner (Schwitzer / KKK).

All Garrett products have first-class quality and are certified according to the most modern and high quality standards ISO 9001/14001.
